Grave Encounters 2 Official Trailer 2012

Here’s first look at the trailer for Grave Encounters 2, the sequel to last year’s supernatural horror film shot in first-person found-footage style, written by The Vicious Brothers. The movie’s prequel will be available as Video On Demand on October 2nd and can be seen in theaters beginning October 12th, 2012 (Halloween is fast approaching).

Grave Encounters was a hand-cam nightmare phenomenon that many people believed was just a movie. Film student Alex Wright, also obsessed with the first film, will find evidence against them in Grave Encounters 2. While he and his friends research the events and visit the real psychiatric hospital depicted in the original film, they find themselves face-to-face with unspeakable evil, banking on the hope that their knowledge of the original film will help them survive the sequel.

The first Grave Encounters film was in danger of being lost in the slew of found footage, first person horror films and yet The Vicious Brothers threw enough good ideas into the mix to keep the interest up. The film had a number of great images and a very interesting idea which kicks in about halfway through which gave the film an edge over its many bedfellows. So, while a sequel isn’t a huge surprise what was see here in the first trailer seems to suggest they are going over old ground with a twist, albeit one we’ve seen before. The premise is that a group of fans of the first film set out to shoot a documentary in the film’s location, and of course bad things happen. As I said this is not a new trick The oft-forgotten Book of Shadows, Aka Blair Witch 2, used exactly the same premise
